  19. YGM stands for 'You've Got Mail'.
  20. It checks your POP mailboxes for new mails so that you do not have to
  21. start your favourite yet sometimes bulky mail client just for this.
  22.  
  23. YGM shows you how many mails are waiting in your mailboxes for download
  24. and their approximate size.
  25.  
  26. YGM is also useful for email providers who require a POP3 authentication
  27. before you are allowed to send emails over their SMTP servers, a security
  28. feature also known as 'SMTP-after-POP'.

  31. EINFÜHRUNG

  33. YGM steht für 'You've Got Mail' ('Du hast Post' oder auch 'e-m@il für
  34. Dich' ;-).
  35. Es prüft die eigenen POP-Mailboxen auf neue EMails, so daß dafür nicht
  36. extra der sonst bevorzugte aber manchmal etwas voluminöse EMail-Client
  37. gestartet werden muß.

  39. YGM zeigt an, wie viele EMails in den eigenen Mailboxen auf den Download
  40. warten, sowie deren ungefähre Größe.

  42. YGM ist außerdem bei EMail-Providern nützlich, die eine POP3-Authentifi-
  43. zierung erfordern, bevor EMails über deren SMTP-Server verschickt werden
  44. können, ein Sicherheits-Feature, das auch als 'SMTP-after-POP' bekannt
  45. ist.

  58. ° YGM ran into dire straits when it was started again while another instance
  59.   of the program was talking to the mail servers - this has been fixed.
  60. ° The install script speaks italian now too.
